日本では必殺無頼剣として知られ、Marvel's Avengers との混同を避けるためにアベンジャーとも呼ばれるアベンジャーズは、1986 年にカプコンがアーケード向けに開発、公開した格闘ゲームです。このゲームは、以前に横スクロール ビート エム アップのカンフー マスター (1984 年) やトロイの木馬 (1986 年) をデザインし、その後オリジナルのストリート ファイター (1987 年) やいくつかの初期の SNK 格闘ゲームをデザインした西山隆氏が監督を務めました。
